She is a Senior Advocate at Bombay High Court, who has been practising here for 15 years now. She studied B.Sc. under a scholarship at Wharton School, Philadelphia, and then went on to pursue her LL.B. from Government Law College, Mumbai. She was enrolled at the Bar in 1984 and has practised in the Labour Courts, Industrial Tribunal, Family Courts, CAT, MAT and NGT. Gayatri is part of a national network of lawyers and legal activists providing legal aid and legal education to the poor and marginalized. She is working with various organisations in framing policies and suggesting changes to laws. She has been presenting the Aarey case in Courts.
